If you’ve been pouring time into creating content but feel like it’s not getting you the results you want—clients, leads, and sales—you’re not alone. The online space can feel overwhelming, but with the right strategy, you can turn your content into a magnet for your ideal audience.
In this blog post, I’m sharing my 5-step system to create content that doesn’t just look good but actually converts. These are actionable tips you can implement right away to see tangible results in your online presence. Let’s dive in!
The 5-Step System to Create Content That Converts ⬇️
1. Know Your Audience’s Pain Points
You can’t create converting content if you don’t know who you’re talking to. The more specific you are about your audience’s struggles, the more your content will resonate.
How to implement this:
Conduct research: Poll your audience on Instagram Stories, send out a survey, or browse forums like Reddit or Facebook Groups where your ideal clients hang out, ask ChatGPT more details about what your audience struggles with and desires.
Identify pain points: What keeps them up at night? What do they wish they could achieve?
📌 Example: If you’re a business coach, your audience’s pain point might be, “I don’t know how to turn my followers into paying clients.” Your content should provide solutions to that exact problem.
2. Hook Them in 3 Seconds
We live in a fast-paced, scroll-happy world. If you don’t grab your audience’s attention in the first few seconds, you risk losing them entirely.
How to implement this:
Use bold, intriguing headlines for your posts or captions.
Start with a question, shocking stat, or relatable scenario.
In videos, use on-screen text or start talking immediately to capture attention.
📌 Example Hook: “Are you making this one mistake that’s costing you clients?”
3. Share Actionable Tips
Fluffy, vague advice doesn’t convert. Your audience needs to walk away with clear steps they can implement right now. Position yourself as someone who delivers value. You want to be an account worth following!!
How to implement this:
Use a “how-to” format for your posts or videos.
Break down complex ideas into simple, digestible steps.
Avoid jargon—speak in plain language. (They aren't an expert in it, that's why they need you!)
📌 Example: Instead of saying, “Repurpose your content,” say, “Turn a blog post into a reel by summarizing the main points and linking to the original article.”
4. Include a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)
Even the most valuable content won’t convert if your audience doesn’t know what to do next. A CTA is essential for guiding them toward taking action.
How to implement this:
Use action-oriented language: “Click the link,” “DM me,” “Save this post.”
Make the next step easy and specific.
Match the CTA to the stage of the customer journey.
📌 Example CTAs:
Top-of-funnel: “Save this post for later!”
Mid-funnel: “DM me ‘CONVERT’ for a custom strategy.”
Bottom-of-funnel: “Click the link in my bio to book your strategy session.”
5. Repurpose Like a Pro
Don’t let your content work for you once. Repurposing allows you to extend its reach, save time, and meet your audience where they’re most active.
How to implement this:
Video content: Break long-form videos into short reels or TikToks.
Written content: Turn blog posts into carousel posts, LinkedIn articles, or email newsletters.
Graphics: Share Instagram carousels on Pinterest to drive traffic back to your website.
📌 Example: Post a carousel on Instagram breaking down your blog post, then create a Pinterest pin linking to the full blog.
Your Next Steps
Implementing these 5 steps will help you stop creating content for the sake of posting and start creating content with a purpose—building your authority and converting your audience into paying clients.
